Summer Reading 2020 Guide - Imagine Your Story

Join us for summer reading at the Cora J. Belden Library! Check out the fun and educational activities for all ages!

June 22 - August 31

Virtual Summer Reading Program

Our summer reading program this year will be done virtually through Beanstack, an online program that helps you track and log your reading. Beanstack can be viewed on your device's web browser, or if you prefer, you can download their mobile app on iOS or Android.

It’s simple and fun to participate! Log your books into Beanstack to earn virtual badges and raffle tickets for cool prizes!

READ and log your book titles. Earn virtual badges for the books that you read and log.

DO an activity challenge and earn a virtual badge. Write a book review and earn a virtual badge for each of the first 3 reviews submitted.

WIN a gift card to a local business. Each virtual badge you earn automatically enters you into our raffle. The more you participate, the more chances you have to win a prize! Winners will be notified at the end of the summer.

Events for All Ages!

Check our online calendar frequently as events are added weekly. Here is an overview of the main offerings we have available so far:

Looking for Something to Read?

We are currently providing a Library 2 Go curbside pickup service! If we have the book or item you are looking for in our library, we can arrange to have it outside for you to come pickup! Check out our online catalog and use the drop-down menu at the top of the page to select 'Rocky Hill - Cora J. Belden Library' to get an idea of what we have on the shelf.

To learn more or to schedule a time, please call the main library phone number at 860-258-7621 and press #2.

We also have lots of eBooks and digital audiobooks available for you to access from the comfort of home! Check out some of them using the services listed below:

Looking to Volunteer?

Each summer we look forward to working with our high school teen volunteers. Although the library building is not currently open and our programs will all be virtual for the time being, we can still use the help of our trusty volunteers! If you have a project that you are passionate about that is related to library, we are curious to hear about it. For example, if you love coding, create some video tutorials or online content that we can share through our social media. Have some books that you are passionate about? Write some reviews for us that we can share with patrons. The sky is the limit. Contact us at the Information Desk at 860-258-7623 for more info on getting involved.

Need a Library Card?

If you don't have a Cora J. Belden Library card and you are a Rocky Hill resident, get a temporary digital card to access our online resources by filling out this online form.

Have Questions?

Please give us a call at the Information Desk, 860-258-7623, or reach out to us using our Live Online Chat.

Happy reading!!!
